Exclamation Cant get my dipstick out . . .

So I started putting in my LPP Long tubes and ran into a problem removing the stock manifolds. The dipstick and its little bracket were keeping me from getting the manifold off and the header on. I could not get the dipstick out of the block, it refused to twist or wiggle out like the one on my '87 V20 did when I put long tubes on that truck. I ended up cutting off the dipstick tube with a big pair of wire cutters and crimping the end over to get the exhaust back on but now I have no dipstick Does anyone know how to get it out? Please help

These new LS based motors sound absolutely AWESOME through open headers BTW!

take off the 15mm bolt, then if it doesnt come out, try getting under neath there and and using a long scredriver and peck it out.

Ok I mispoke when I starte this thread. I got the actual dip stick out, the skinny metal thing with the yellow handle. I cant get the dipstick tube out of the side of the block. I tried twisting it and wiggling and it wont come free from the block. I ended up kinking the tube trying to loosen it so I crimped it off. The LS engines are awesome but some of the stuff bolted to them is junk . . .

Again, the dip stick tube is held in with a bolt. Did you take that bolt out? I hope so, if it is stuck them you probably use cheap oil
