    tuner/tune questions

so i understand that most people will say to get a tune rather than get a tuner. my question is with the extra power and adding extra mods. do you guys ever throw up a code or chevk engine light. what do you do to clear these codes if you have a mail tune. do you also need a code reader and deleter. also has any like i guess average guy do the custom tuning themselves like Hptuner. like can u just try and figure it out as you go.

There are a lot of people who have bought HP Tuners or EFI Live and taught themselves. It can be done it just takes a lot of patience and learning. If you need something to clear codes, you can get an Aeroforce scan gauge and it will clear most codes.

so will the scan gauge not interfere with a tune you have installed.

Nope cuz all it's doing is reading from the OBD port. It doesn't mess with your tune.

cheap gauges are 70 bucks. I say 45 to be safe. Chevys have a small backup battery inside somewhere, so 1 minute NORMALLY doesnt clear it
