While waiting for the extra money I need to get my headers, I made a home brewed exhaust system, and im wondering if it is hurting my low end torque.

I cut the exhaust at the muffler, and just threw a turn down in it's place, I have an extended cab truck, and the turndown ends right after the cab..

Do you think this is hurting me at the moment?

Is it stock from the cutoff up to the engine? As in stock size pipe and still has cats, because if it is I don't think your losing anything at all. Mine is setup pretty similar to this and I'm not sure but I think it is a pretty good exhaust setup, sounds good anyway.

Probably helped the engine. You need to get the exhaust out from under the truck or it might make you sick.

I unbolted that POS Flowmaster from my truck... I can swear it runs about town quicker. I took it down the freeway for about 15min also, didn't seem to have lost any power @ 1800rpm.

The stock manifolds/semi headers and cats provide sufficient back pressure I'd say.
