    Unhappy 4x4 trans to 4x2

    How hard is it to change a 4x4 4l60e to a 2wd one? I have lined up a good deal on a better condition 4by one then my slipping 2wd 60e. If its changeable what do i need to switch? thanks!

    im pretty sure you just gotta change the output shaft and the tail housing

    Thats what i remember hearing too but i just wanted to make sure. can anyone confirm this 100% before i go out and buy it?

    Yeah but it has to come all the way apart to do the swap in case you didn't know....

    Yep, it's not something you want to do unless time is on your side and you're willing to tear apart the transmission. Plus, if that's the case you might as well rebuild the whole thing while you're at it so you should just buy a core.

    Or, just rebuild the one you already have, and build it to what you want it to be.
