Pros and cons of different styles of tunes?

I see from reading on here that alot of people go and are happy with a Nelson Tune. Question is, what are the pros and cons of getting a Nelson tune vs a tuner that will ride in your truck and tune it? How can a Nelson tune get you the most out of your truck by not riding in it and tuning it or having it on a dyno? I don't know what would be best so just asking for opinions and why Thanks for any info.

Allen knows his stuff, his mail tune will be just as good if not better than many peoples live or dyno tunes.

Look back in the Chevy High Performance mags in 2004 and 2005. They were doing some farting around with HPT and tuning trucks with mild mods. They did a test where they compared one of Allen Nelson's tunes done by mail order to a PCM4less that was a live street tune. The truck was given time or miles to use each tune and the dyno numbers (that are a measurement but not the best for determining street manners and power) had hardly a difference at all....something less than 3-4 HP.

Does that answer the question? I don't even have one of his tunes so I'm mostly unbiased.

I put in a LS3 418 w/ cam, heads, intake manifold, new injectors, full bolt-ons, new transmission with 3200 stall and a mail order Nelson tune in my TBSS... drove it down to get it "Live Tuned" with him and the only thing he changed was I wanted my shift points higher. Moral of the story, he nailed it with a mail order tune, I later went to the track and busted off a high 11 with it. That's just my experiance with him...
