Hello All. This is my first post here, but I have been lurking for a little while.
I have used the search button and looked at the stickies, but have not found an exact answer to what I was looking for.
I am swapping a 6.0L from an '01 1500HD into my 1994 Chevy 2500 4x4 Cheyenne. It's mostly a plow truck for me, but the 350 is tired after 14 years of plowing and idling...The trans is a clean 4l80e.
I am trying to make this as simple as possible so I don't need to yank the cab off the chassis etc.
What I need to find out are two things:
1) Who makes a motor mount kit that can be a bolt in system which will allow me to save the stock driveshaft? I found the Hooker 12611s on Jegs from another post here and they look like they would work (because they move the engine back a little).
2) Are any mounts just bolt in, or do I have to cut out the old mounts and weld in new ones?
Thanks in advance!
