    Will the T-Case Hold up???

Hey all. New to this forum as of today . Spent some time on here reading and searching and couldn't really find what i was looking for.

I'm looking into getting a regular cab long bed 4x4 Silverado 2500/2500HD (2003-2006), for towing. My '90 K1500 does fine most of the time but it doesn't have the 3/4 rating like i need a lot of the time. I've seen all the vids and such online of things like the STS turbo kits and i've caught a bug. I want to do something like this.

Since i'll be getting a 2500 i'll have the 6.0 and the 4L80E stock. but i MUST have 4wd. If it is a truck that gets used i use 4wd. My issue; if i get one and do a turbo kit or custom build a kit, will the stock transfer case hold up??? I mean i won't be boosting it in 4wd or anything but want to make sure it will hold up to the 2wd abuse.

    Thanks in advance.

    -Shaun

thanks for the info guys. I'm trying to get everything ready and in order before i go get the truck and start the build haha.

And Ramsey - i know that the HD version comes with a 4L80E, but i do think that the non HD versions do as well.

Only 99-00 had non HD 2500's as far as I know. The 1500HD has an 80 too I think. If not, someone will chime in

It will hold. I know of a Silverad that is running the 2500 TC and he can put down 1011 hp and 1090 lbs torque. So if he can run that kind of horse power and torque through it I am sure it will handle what you are going to throw at it.

You know your truck sounds good when cops ask you to get on it.
