I am looking at adding a factory oil cooler to my 99 ls1, and was wondering if one off a 99 tahoe 5.7l will bolt up to my 4.8l? I have searched and found no answers. Any help would be much appreciated.

There is a plate you remove above the oil filter, then you bolt on the factory oil cooler hoses. So yes it will work. The oil cooler is in the tank of the radiator.

So when the piece that bolts to the block is put on then the oil filter sits side ways? I just don't want to get the wrong parts to go to the cooler in the radiator.

A 99 Tahoe has nothing relative to your truck and neither does the 5.7 it came with.
Ah ya nice catch not from a 99 Hoe, but a truck with a LS based engine.
