    PLX Wideband

I did a search and I didn't find what i was looking for so I was looking to get a plx wideband and also use it as a narrowband. Have any of you done this, did you have any problem when you did.

The easiest thing to do is to add another bung and run a separate WB.

I did run a PLX for almost two years simulating the Driver side NB. Cut the pigtail off an old NB and used it to wire into the Controller (no cutting wires at the ECM). I grounded to the ground strap at the firewall going to the motor. One issue was the simulation of the NB heater....no matter what I did with resistors it resulted in either a code or melted project board and/or box. I ended up wiring to the pigtailess NB sensor mounted on a metal outlet plate (drilled hole) on plastic box mounted to firewall in engine bay. It all worked fine after that, though I would have used dual simulated NB's if I had to do it that way again. I always suspected a difference between the two sides greater than the natural difference that exists anyway.

Fyi....I added a bung and installed a NGK Powerdex and replaced all the PLX setup with a new NB and for good measure a new NB on passenger side as well. Much more confident this way in the results since NB's both truly give me independent results at stoich anyway.

Either way you go...grounding is critical. I ended up taking a 10 ga. and a pair of 12 ga. grounds back to the battery from the WB and my HPT interface respectively. My WB analog output by meter was near perfect while a noticeable offset was still showing up in an HPT log from a jumpered wire. I did a "AA" battery test showed HPT working fine...a mod at HPT board suggested offset was from WB heater....big grounds if you think about it. I hiked up my offset until my DFCO readings were hitting 16.0 (max of WB controller) so added .182. I got -2 reading on LTFT's right now so I am in the ballpark I want to be in.
