I plan on doing an ls1 swap into my 89 chevy truck and I was wondering whats a good muffler to run with it? I wont be running a cat and will most likely be running headers. I also need the muffler to be fairly small because I only have about 4" of clearance for it. I have some flowmaster 40s but ive heard that they are rather loud. Im looking for something right in the middle
    thanks

    Hey Jimmy,
I'm going to run turbos on my El Camino. They've got a low rumble and good flow. Can't remember the brand name, got them at a custom muffler shop.See if I can find out tomorrow

I would highly recommend borlas pro-xs mufflers,
ask Farmtruc, its not loud at all during idle, but when you romp on it, its a nice sound.

    I love it.

Id run moroso mufflers the ones that look like bullet mufflers.
old set up: 2002 chevy 5.3, procharger 12lbs boost, asm headers, ls1 edit, flames, 20inch budniks

New Set up: 2004 chevy 5.3 ext cab, 12 inch twisted suspension lift, 36's, exhaust.
future mods: 150-200 shot, ls1 edit, air intake, stall, 5.13 gears, 12s or bust

I would strap on the STS turbo system, it acts like a muffler and you will have more power then you can handle!

cheap for a turbo setup too!
