    fleetside vs. sportside or stepside?

    anyone know the weight difference, got a shot at getting a shortbed!! for an ecsb. was currious how much difference were in the 2

    Like I said in other posts... Mine is a fleetside extended cab 2wd... it weighs 4630lbs with out me in it. But Mine seems to be a little lighter than others like mine. So i dont know if this is a good reference.

    mines fleet side also and surprisenly lighter than that with me in it!! i wanna go lighter . already looking at the front suspension. the goal has been raised. even though i hadnt hit my goal of 12:00 which 11s is just icing on the cake

    skeet,i too had a 2000 ext cab,i went from fleetside to stepside,its like at least 150 pounds lighter.it took 4buddys to take offa fleet bed,only 2 for the stepside.my 08'rcsb weighs 4400.

    a skeet what is it?for every 100 pounds off its 1 tenth off e.t??or??was wondering what other weight reduction i can do as well,i removed spare,jack etc,center seat,put rollpan.cant think of anything else,i dont think ill remove the sway bar-danger!!lol

    yeah theres really not much unless you start spending the dollars for lighter parts which are now becoming my intentions!!! so said thats true about 1 tenth per 100 lbs.. we shall see cause i think i can shave off a few hundred pounds..

    true, the bed being lighter is not the only weight intentions i have, already have priced out new front light weight suspension along with other stuff..

    maybe i should go with lighter suspension, instead of the bed for now?

    The Sportside bed has fiberglass exterior panels.
