    My Truck vs. Comparable

    Looking at the fastest truck list I see a 5.3 4wd with only a Nelson tune and intake at 15.4. My truck, 4wd, 5.3 Intake, Exhaust, Headers, Efans, Nelson tune recently ran 15.8. I really don't see much room for improvement in the launch. Launched 2wd and 4wd and went from 15.885 to 15.865. What gives? My truck just slow?

    4/10ths is alot when you get into quicker speeds, but at those speeds it could truly be anything. Newer gen 5.3, weight differences, (standard vs short bed) track conditions, temperature, the simple fact that some motors are "healthier" than others, even from the factory, etc.

    Uh...not to call you out, but the difference is four one hundredths of a second. That difference is not enough to warrant you putting any more stress on the transfer case to get you a better launch. Your truck could easily do better, given the correct track conditions and temps. I bet that once you got your launch nailed and you are running it in 50 degree temps, you should see a 15.4 1/4 time...

    Stall Converter Cut my 60s from high 2.1s to high 1.8s. Might think about getting one.

    Correct me if Im wrong, its been a long day...

    15.8 - 15.4 = .4
    4/10 (four tenths) = .4
    4/100 (four hundredths) = .04

    So would it not be four tenths faster?

    0.4 = 4/10 tenths
    0.44 = 44/100 hundredths
    0.444 = 444/1000 thousandths
    etc.

    might help

    but yeah coop youre right

    Literature/Architect major. He pay'd good money for that University of Texas degree, I don't guess they teach math and common sense there. PWNED
