    Transformance built 4l60e

Just bought this trans 4 moths ago, put 6k miles on it and broke something in the input area the builder thinks. It's coming out of the truck this weekend and going back to be fully repaired under warranty. Will be fresh and ready to go. Currently is setup for 4x4 and has the cryo treated output shaft for a 4l70e 4wd TBSS, but can have a 2wd output shaft and housing put in it while at the builders. Has all the best parts put in it for level 3 or 5 depending on who you want to compare it to.

    5 pinion GM planet sets
Raptor Torque drive hardened and sleeved input assm.
    Superduty Beast sunshell.
    Complete roller bearing conversion
    Raybesos Blue Plate clutches, ect
    Trans Go HD-2 shift kit
    Corvette servo
    New reverse drum
And some other stuff I'm sure I'm missed.

Supposed to be pretty much the best he could build a 4l60e to. Is rated to hold 600hp/600tq
I paid $2200 for this tranny and will let it go for $1950 obo plus shipping.

Input housings can fail (ask MidwestSS) but it's more common the clutches in there fry and score the inner bore. B, I want pics 1st so I can guess what happened...LOL

I added pics of what it looked like when I put it in. I won't have pics of what broke as it is going strait to Tranformance in GA to be fully repaired under warranty. It broke while break stalling for a launch. Builder think it might have just been a defective part in the input drive. It has reverse, but no forward gears. It never slipped once, just when bang and no forward gears. The tranny always shifted very nicely. Also, selling it with out the bell housing like the pics, as it will be back on my stock tranny that's going in my truck in the mean time.

BTW, I'm only selling this because I have decided that with my setup I'm making to much power for a 4l60e and am going to put a 4L80e in my truck.

Also, the Torque Drive hard parts assm was a $1000 upgrade when I bought this tranny.

It's not the input if it has reverse. Makes me wonder about the people that told you that on the phone. Did you put it in manual 2 or 1? If it moves in M1 or M2 but no other forwards AND has reverse, the input sprag is broken.

Anyone that knows about 60's knows that....LOL.

Actually, that's exactly what he told me, lol, and it doesn't do anything in M1 or M2. I know very little about trannys and just trying to go off memory of what he told me. He said it could have broken the splines behind the drum, or maybe the first plants set, but it didn't make any grinding noises, just bang and then no forward. Said he wouldn't know for sure till he gets it, but it will be good to go when he gets done with it.

It'd be great if you posted the failure and what's been done to fix it...
