Finally got 1/4 times for my LS1 swap.

Well here it is, me and my friend went to the gainesville drag strip tonight and just got back. Im a little disappionted in my times i only ran a 14.10 at 99.42mph with 2.28 60' times. Also ducky heres a picture of my time slip if i could get added to the 1/4 mile list.

Also will a GM Hotcam make those times better scince it has a 112LSA compared my stock ls6 cam 117.5LSA? Reason for asking im just wondering if i shoulde change to 3:73's from my 3:42's to hit 13's before my cam swap. Or if the cam swap will bring me into the 13's?? What do you guys think?

    Thanks Brandon

the problem is not the cam. its the 60' time. i made it to 13.26 with the LS1 on a stock cam. get a torque converter and some slicks and watch the times drop almost a half second before the first 60' of track.

    old mod list: H/C/I/N/E/G 408
new mod list: 5.3, gears/posi, mufler and tune : (

PI or Yank, Cant go wrong!

Less expensive options include a reworked stock converter or a trailblazer converter.

Reaction times don't come into play for ET or 60 ft times. You can sit on the line for 2 seconds and still cut 1.xx 60fts. You definitely need a stall, Yank is best bang for buck but PI may be best overall quality. Both are good. Like everyone else said, get your traction issues taken care of and you'll be in the mid 13's easy. I ran a 13.5 @ 99.6 with a 2.1 60 ft. I'm still kinda confused how you ran 1/2 a second slower with the same trap and only slightly slower 60ft? Not saying it didn't happen, just not sure how??

Yea so i guess i will go out and get a TC, I cant see how i have traction issues with caltracs and stiffer shocks... my friend who has absolutly no suspension what so ever got a 14.2 at 95 with a 05 CCSB Silverado w/6.0L swap and 3:73's stock stall and cam. But he weighs 1000lbs more than me! Thats why i feel like i need gears or ether a lower LSA to get off the line better.

I had five runs over all, four of them were 14.1 at 99mph and one was 14.4 at 102mph(no traction) Looking at all my 60' times i had a 2.201 almost 1 sec lower than the 60' time i posted but i still! somehow got a 14.18 at 99.56mph...

Also just letting everyone know my truck is a pig!! from 0-25mph, but its great from 30-120mph it just keeps pulling really hard up high. once i hit the 120 mark i let off but i was still pulling hard.
