    steering shaft

    my 06 2600hd had the intermidiant steering shaft replaced now somethin in steering column in truck is loose rattlin soundin when I turn it

    Lower bearings on 2005+ are almost as common as the shafts. The new shaft was put in service November 2006 so if it was replaced (or just lubed) before that, you'll need the new one.

    Crawl under the dash and check for slack in the plastic bearing where the steering shaft comes out of the column.

    No. No reason to. Not a safety issue. Just annoying. If your truck is out of warranty but low mileage you should be able to talk the dealer into fixing it. They don't have lifetime warranties....

    that's great but look at summit. It's a bit pricey and comes with a dampener. To me it's worth the money to upgrade.

    ok cool! is that the whole shaft including upper? because where its popping and sounding loose its under the dash? little white plastic thing looks like bearing or somen
