hi everyone, i'm new to the site, and have some questions that i need answered urgently..

i'll be rebuilding my lt1 as it ran without oil pressure for some time, and then quit and knocks anyway, while i'm in there, i might as well redo the thing to pull as much power as i can

    so here are my questions:

what is the biggest cam i can run for power, and still pass smog? can i go bigger than the lt4 hotcam that i currently have? i would mind a little lopeing at idle (what's a little lopeing ever do to anybody ) anyway, i want the most power as possibile, and still be good at smog time.

i was also thinking of keeping the stock heads/intake, only changing the t/b if needed..

basicly i'm just asking for ideas, because i don't know too much about these engines, and the power that they can make and be legal..

the engine is in the process of coming out now, and i'll be bringing it to the shop next week or two, so i need to get these parts ordered up quick. any info would help, thanks!

As far as how big a cam you can go and pass smog, that mostly depends on how you tune it, you can go bigger than the lt-4 you'll just have a "special" tune for when you go to get it smogged.

As far as specifics I would reccomend going over to camaroz28.com and doing a search on a few of the forums, this topic has been discussed a TON over there and there are a lot of proven packages that you can look at and see results without having to guess.
    1 ton, 4600 pounds, 14.3@94mph any questions?
