    help me decide between cams

ok i know im going to do a cam swap but i have a few uncertainties. one is i cant make up my mind between the tr220 ans the tr224. i know its not much of a difference but the 224 has a tiny bit more lift and duration. which is the other thing. i am by no mean going to take the heads off this engine. so what are the stock ls2 heads good for lift wise? if the springs are good enough i will go with the 224. and another thing is im kinda on the wall on the on the lsa i want some lope but dont want to kill any torque because even though its a 2wd its still a heavy bitch. and i need everything i can get to pull her off the line. the 224 does kill a little more torque than the 220 also, i have seen dyno charts on both.
so im leaning more towards the 220, but should i go 114lsa or the 112lsa? i geuss thats really what i want some feedback on is the lsa.

Tom, I say go big or go home. The LS2 would love the 224. I think it will work well with your setup. Your 243 heads flow great for stock heads, so you won't run into issues there. Make sure to get PRC springs with it.

I agree here! Get the bigger 224 I just put the TR220 112 in my truck and I am not that impressed. Either Allen tuned all but the slightest bit of lope out of my combo or the cam does not lope... And I have yet to see the "power under the curve" I may have other issues with my setup but I wish I would have got the bigger cam to begin with. I do have a 3k stall so maybe that is why I dont have any driveability issues but as of now to the untrained ear you would not even know my truck has an aftermarket cam.
