    question for Nelson tune

I was talking to Mean05 about a 5.3 to a 6.0 swap in my 03 z71. I have a superchips flashpac tune on it now with a K&N airbox and duals. Means tells me that the timing in the 5.3 ecm might be to advanced for the 6.0 and could cause detonation if not correction. I have talked to superchips and they are able to write a program that is downloadable to my tuner will this fix the problem? What do you folks suggest?

More than likely the 5.3L tune will run ok after the 6L engine is installed. It will make more power than the 5.3L and the only issue will be a lack of fuel.
The superchips still runs the a/f ratio on the conservative side, so chances are the 6L will have enough fuel; just be sure to get a wideband on the truck before going wot to ensure the a/f ratio is rich enough.

Both engines can accept about the same amount of timing, so it shouldn't ping.

The only way to ensure the engine is safe, is to have a scanner available so you can monitor the engine.
