    Pacesetters LT Exhaust setup

Ok so here is a long story and ?s from a newb. I just purchased an 06 Silverado Ext Cab 4x4 with the 5.3, I haven't picked the truck up yet because I am overseas but I rushed in like a fool and ordered Pacesetter LT headers to start on the exhaust.

So now the ?s could this setup work if I found a decent exhaust shop to run duals to an X pipe muffler?

    These Headers

To a 3” to 2.5” collector reducer like such then from the reducers I assume we would need custom bent tubing for the high flow aftermarket cats with like these with the 02 bungs since I guess from what I could find out online the factory system uses 4 sensors 2 prior in the headers / manifolds and one in each cat and I assume we could use OEM style replacements so it doesn’t throw codes

Then from the cats we would need custom bent pipes to a Dynomax Ultra-Flo X muffler 2 in 2 out and, then run 2.5” pipes from it from there to split rear exit and maybe some nice tips.

Anybody with any input would be greatly appreciated.

man i don't see any problems with doing it. I have these headers but i just ran a full 3inch exhaust all the way through mine for a little more power over the 2.5inch piping. Delete the cats and do the x-pipe! But is it an extended cab? A lot of my buddies have Silverado SS's and they run headers with true duals and an x-pipe!

I am running the reducers because from my understanding 3 inch pipes decrease backpressure too much, I am sticking with the cats because I am having a shop do all the work and they won't touch it without cats. This is all in prep for a Radix install come June.

Yeah I am just worrying about eliminating the Y pipe pretty much with it being 4x4 and the amount of space available

It wont be a problem. Remember my truck is AWD, so we have basically the same drivetrain. There is plenty of room.

Yeah, what you have explained sounds just fine. I would not drop down to 2.5" right at the collectors--I would wait until the muffler to do so. I would also HIGHLY recommend that you get 2 sets of these 3 bolt flanges and gaskets so that the exhaust shop can weld these to the ends of the header collectors where it meets to the 3" y-pipe. This will make it much easier to assemble and disassemble if needed. Inside the 3" y-pipe, have them install 3" high flow cats with the proper O2 bung locations. And run the 3" y-pipe to the socket joint to where your cat back meets up. From there, you can reduce the 3" to a 2.5" Y and then into your 2.5" dual in/2.5" dual out x-pipe muffler.
