What condition to sell my truck in?

Next thursday Im going to go look at an 05 cc z71 that has high miles on it but Im not worried about the drivetrain since I know my way around it, I just want a black crew cab, even though its not the truck I really want it is less then half of what I would have to pay for the dmax I want and I can get a house two years sooner. Anyway on to the question, the engine/trans is out of the truck right now. It will be going back in over the next week. I have a small cam 205/212 115lsa(will use brand new LS6 springs), and a TT2600 that I can throw in when I put it all back together. Im just wondering if I shouldnt just put it back totally stock with the just the corsa catback, volant intake and tune and leave the baby cam and stall out of it to sell it. If I sold my truck on here I know those would be pluses for buying it but selling it to the general public it would be a minus. If I sold it to the general public I would pull the catback and intake off, and flash a stock tune back in it. I need to decide soon but I cant make up my mind. BTW the truck Im looking at has 124K on it and I could walk out of the dealership for 14k, not too bad IMO, and after I sell my truck I would only be into it for 6Kish which I could pay off really quickly thus Im wanting to jump on it. Its a good compromise between money spent and the new truck that I really want.

I think you should just put your old one back to stock and flash the tune to stock. To me it always seems that the dealer frowns upon the thought of them taking in a truck that has custom stuff done to it. I may be wrong, but thats just my .2 cents.. btw why a truck with such high mileage on it? Not that its that big of a deal, but I mean you got any plans for the crew cab?

I wouldnt be trading in my current Z, I would sell it outright since its paid for and costing me nothing to keep. A truck with high mileage because it is cheap, and if something goes wrong with the drivetrain I know how to fix it and it will be fairly cheap. I could get the same truck in an 06 with 30K on it for 21K. For teh 7K difference Ill get the higher mileage truck and when I blow the engine and trans, throw a fully built trans and a 6.0 in it and still come out ahead. Thats my thinking. No realy plans for it any time soon, Im done working on **** all the time. Wheels/tires, sound system, and probably a radix and that will be it for a while. Ill throw my volant, and corsa on there from the current truck. Im not sure if it has efans on it or not by the pics. NO motor swaps any time soon. Hope everything works out to where I can get away from work early one day next week to go take a look at it.

Oh ok I thought you mentioned you would be trading it in. My bad. But yeah that makes sense with getting a high mileage vehicle. You say you won't do too much to it... but we both know thats a lie. Just give it time cody.. you will get the itch soon haha

Eventually it will have a forged motor in it and a fully built 65e but that is a ways on down the road. Ill throw a radix on it with 8#s of boost and get the trans built with a couple small things to make it last a while and roll on down the road for a while. Its time to get a house.

Im shooting for about a year and a half from now. I want to have the truck paid off and alot of money in the bank so once I get the house I have plenty of money to throw at all the stuff it will need.

I really wouldn't be concerned about the high mileage--the LSX motors have shown that they are reliable as hell and still run strong after many miles. If you are sick of working on stuff, take your Z back to complete stock and keep all of the aftermarket parts around for grins or sell them to get some extra $$$. If you want the truck---get it. You don't need to justify it to yourself--you already have good reasons why to purchase it and to pay it off quickly. I say do it!
