    Sorry,
I live down here in smokin So Cal, bar code label is for engine swaps for future emissions tests. The later model engine has to pass that years emissions, for me I went from the old TB 350 to the 05 5.3, thus 05 emissions levels.

    O.K...

So, what is a bar code label for? Is this a sticker or something, that engines in California, have to have in an obvious location, for the emissions test facility, that tells them what year engine model year you have? Where is this located? Or is a bar code label just a form you fill out, with the state, to verify the engines origins? Or?

The Bar code is a label sticker they put on your vehicle for future smog checks at certified stations, so now my 91 has to pass 2005 emission standards every two years for it to get the calif dmv registration.

'92 has to pass '92, no visual (shhhhh! no cats)
Won't be for long, those californians infect everyone in time.
Funnest place I've ever spent the winter though, Sierra Nevada's at 11,000 feet.
