Well ive read everywhere that our truck will accept LS1 parts, cam and intake and such. Is this true? is it just a direct replacement or do i need some other things to complete this? I have a friend that is willing to sell me his stock LS1 parts, can i just bolt these onto my 5.3l? Im pretty much stock except for intake and exhaust, and im looking to get into bigger things like this and i hear cam and intake swap off a ls1 get some good gains. Thanx for any input.

You'll need to do a little bit of cutting I hear to get the ls1 intake to fit, the bracketry I mean.
The cam will pop right in. If you're getting a deal I don't see why not.

    go for it,

Injectors are different too on the trucks. To get the F-bod intake manifold to work you will need to do some fab'ing for it to work. Cams and rockers bolt right up.

The truck intake flows better than the LS1 intake but the LS6 flows better than the truck at higher RPMs. Save an F-bod intake swap until you are making a lot of power and require that swap.
