    Heater install question

I have a newly installed 2004 LQ4 installed in my truck. The problem I just noticed while putting the heater back in is that the heater needs a vacuum pump to operate the doors. On my old TBI engine there was a place on the intake manifold to get vacuum.

Is there some place on my 2004 intake in which I could install this vacuum line? My heater is from a 1980s truck.

    thanks

They have them for like 5 bucks at the dealership. Mine was blocked off on my intake but I was able to pick one up that actually fit back there.

So I just ask them for the vacuum part or plug for the lq4 intake?

Just want to make sure I know how and what to communicate when I get down to the dealership.

    Thanks

Passenger side 3/4 the way back on the intake there should be the port referenced above. Just use side cutters to snip off the end.

The other reference if tfor the Vaccum assist brake port on the rear of the intake. I have not been able to locate one of those and from what I hear they are almost impossible to remove from a donor intake w/o problems. Also I have no idea if you just pull the blockoff plug out of the rear of the intake if your intake was a hydraboost model.

cool, just for clarification, my vacuume hose looks like it is about 1/8 inch or so in diameter on the outside and obviously much smaller than that on the inside. I will be able to snip this off small enough to slip the end of the hose onto it and then zip tie it?

Do I have this right. the end of the nipple should be pretty small then right?
