Just like the title says, which is better? How many CFM's do the LS1's move? Do you have to get a bigger alternantor with the LS1's just as you would with the Flex a lites? Thanks in advance for the suggestions!![]()

I think the 145 amp alternater is a must for any fans but that is only an opinion.
99RCSB Broke because I wasted thousands and thousands of dollars on my truck.
If you have a system in your truck,I would go with the bigger alt...the fans will use all they can get

I don't have a system for my truck, but was told that a stock 105 amp alt will do for the fans only. Does anyone know the cfm's of the LS1's? Thanks for the input!!

I've got a 450.1 Kicker amp pushing 2 CVR 10's...with the Flex-a-lite 292 Monster fans and I have not had a problem at all. But then again, I have the smaller crank and alt. pulley. I am not sure is the smaller pulley allows for the alt to create more amperage, but with my system and the fans on, I typically run 14 amps on the gauge...

IMHO, I like the Flex-a-lite fans. Easy to install, easy to wire, etc. But they are more expensive than the LS1 fans. They are more expensive because the LS1 fans are typically a used set-up, where the Flex-a-lites are new... I know that the 292 (for the 28" radiator) and 282 (for the 34" radiator) push more CFM's than the LS1 fans do because of the fan size...
Once you do get fans, a Nelson fan harness is also an option...
