After installing my heads and cam I had no power increase over stock. I was asking around about what pushrod length to use, and was told the stock length would work as long as I was within 1 to 1.5 turns from 0 lash. Well that is wrong, they are supposed to by 22 ft lb. I guess the guy thought I had adjustable rockers. The rockers are basically tightened all the way down and maybe holding the valves open. Will this cause a valve to burn? What can of damage would be possible if any?

I don't think you would damage anything running it like that for a short time. You would lose power and stumble since you lose compression....

Man I have to quit listening to people. Bascally when the rockers arent adustable you tighten the down so they dont loosen up. 22ftlb or just tighten them with a wrench until the are tight so they dont loosen up. Back to the drawing board! Could just be the exhaust !

Kevin, if your motor feels tight and won't rev to higher rpms. It's your rockers, too tight. It might hurt a spring or pushrod...

Yep, the stock rockers are self adjusting/aligning. Tighten them to 22ft/lbs, rotate the crank 180* then retorque.

the motor revs to 6500 easy. Im sure there is no binding, with non adjustable rockers if they are over torqued there wont be a problem. Mine were way over torqued, and when set to the right specs there was no difference. Maybe over torqueing can cause geometry problems. I think my problem is in the tuning, I am going through the logs that I have finding little things here and there. Once I get my scanner next Friday I will be able to make changes and log them. I hate waiting!
