I usually never haul anythin, but a month or so ago , I found myself pulling a 2,500 pound trailer with a 67 dodge polara on top of it ( someone loaned me a dualiie with 4:56 gears and stock tires and a non overdrive trans that got like 7mpg that tached out @ 80 and i said no thanks), i decided to go down 277 to avoid traffic while pulling( i got stopped every 45 minutes by state troopers telling me my Oklahoma trailer has no Licence plates + my truck is loud as hell with a load on it). Found gas stations with 93 octane to be rare on 277, ran out of octane boost and out of fuel, had to fill up with 87 @ a hole in the wall gas station . I have a 93 Octane tune.(insert rattleing sounds here) I think I made my little lm7 angry. shortly there after, i notice im losing a gallon of coolant every 1,000 miles. What do you think happned? I dont want to worry about it so Im throwing in my spare motor.

The spare gets a 222/224 .581 114lsa cam and all new gaskets and seals and a new timing chain, should be fun for a while
I cant find a leak in the old motor. I changed the oil, it dont have any coolant in it, but the #7 plug looks like it has seen a bit of coolant. Blown head gasket, cracked head? it feels like its way down on power.

    Any ideas on what happned?
    Should i bother Rebuilding it?

Yah, i know, im dumb or maybe really impatient :

and now im driving that retardedly geared dualie with small tires.........

    Hummmmmm,
sounds like a cracked head on the intake side of your number 7, had something similiar happen to me on an old dodge 360, drank alot of coolant but didn't overheat and the head gaskets were fine, but then again it was a dodge! :
