Thumbs up

I want more performance and to take a load off the engine, but not at the expense of cooling, power & reliability. I know that electric fans are generally thought of as one of the must have boltons for the added performance by decreasing the load on a engine, but I was just curious about any actual before/after results from this mod. I have already purchased some used electric fans, but havent installed them yet. After reading the below article I am thinking that for my big 460 Ford engine, I may need to stick with the fan that can pull the most air and cool better??

Also, If you use a flex fan(in an effort to reduce drag), do you still use the clutch or is it just directly attached to the pulley?

    fan writeup/comparison

    thanks for your replies

But I am considering fans for my '04, and was curious if anyone has actually tested hp/ft. lbs gains on a fan install, and like STNGH8R said have you had any cooling issues?

I've seen as much as 12 hp results from electric fans. I put them on my truck and love them. No cooling issues either. JMO

I have some, and the motor dosen't seem to have to work as hard as it would before. The temp. stayed the same or went a bit lower.
