I'm installing an 06 LQ4/4L80E in a 1984 G30-chassis motorhome. I know, I'm crazy

I'd like to keep as much of the emission controls intact as possible so as not to aggravate the California Smog Nazis. (I'll have to take it to a referee station to get it registered). I'll probably keep the evap canister. I've been told I can probably get by w/o cats.

Right now I plan to have the VATS disabled, but should I consider other changes as well?

Any recommendations on where I should have this done?

Thanks,
Jay

Well you found the right place to not only get your pcm tuned but your vats turned off at the same time. This tune is the best bang for your buck. Allen Nelson does awesome work when it comes to tunning your car or truck exactly how you want it. You can go onto www.nelsonperformance.com and fill out a tunning form, and if you have any questions, you can PM him on this website, shoot him an email, or just call. His name on here is farmtruc. FYI.

why don't you go get it smogged tested before you do the swap? then you have five or so years (however long it is there) to find a buddy to payoff for the following emissions tests, afterwards?

just my thought..
