What is yalls opinion about the 350 vortecs?

What do yall think about the 350 vortec engines?Do yall like this engine?

I like em kind of a cross between LS1 heads and LT1 block. The have some problems like injector tubes breaking and coolant leaks. Still they get some decent power and fuel milage out of them.

I have one in my 99 4x4 tahoe and it runs great, but it's lacking the power of the 5.3 and 6.0.

I was thinking some shorty headers, roller rockers, and cam may help liven it up , but other than that i like em.

They seem to be good performers , but they do need lots of mods to keep up with the 5.3L

Someday i'll switch mine out with a 6L and 4L80E, i can't wait to start that project, it's just a matter of getting the wifey another vehicle and talking her into it. hehehe

the 98 ecsb z71 i had, had one in it and i loved it. real good low end torque, needed some help with the top end but mine was bone stock. with the same gears in the rear it actually got better gas mileage than the 02 z71 i have now.

Yes sure do!

They just seem to rev smoother, higher and faster. Don't get wrong, the older ones are still nice, it's just something always comes out better, remember when the lt1 was hot stuff, now the ls1, i wonder what's next.

Zman you think 3 valve? Wonder if GM will try VVT on their rigs since it seems to be working on their trailblazers.

350....one of the best engines ever made, I think the 350 vortec has more down low than the 5.3 but who knows.

Lets all hope GM doesn't try SOHC or DOHC motors.
