OK... I have been reading all the hype about the Nelson Tunes. Im sold on it and can't wait to place my order. My question for ya'll, who have the Tune, and for Allen himself is this.....

My truck is my everyday driver truck. On my old Z71. I had a superchip and I think that is what led to my rearend and tranny going out, bc of the shift pressure. With this new truck, I dont want to have those problems with it, so I dont want the shift pressure up really high. Would I see a considerable gain on my 1/4 time and acceleration without the shift pressure turned up? My truck lags on the 1st to 2nd gear shift as is. It just seems like it is really slow at that time. 1st gear is great, when it hits second it seem just super slow.

Down to the bottom line. Will a nelson tune make my parts (trans, rearend, ect...) wear faster than normal? If I could get some feedback on y'alls opinion I would so so appreciate it.

My plans are to get this tune, then cam and let him tune it to perfection hopefully.

Thanks, and look forward to hearing from y'all!!

    Daniel

P.S. Cant wait for the tune!

ANY additional horsepower will put a strain on parts. Keep that in mind. I break something else everytime I drive mine. It's part of the fun. It's an addiction like crack. You don't care what it cost, just give it to me.

Time costs money.... sooner or later your truck will have parts fail.

Now for the good side! If you get a live tune with him and you in SA you can control what you get and also quiz him until you are satisfied. Your old truck was built differently with different parts so comparing the Z71 against the SS is apples and oranges... PM me and I can take you for a drive in a live tuned truck and show you what your truck has for potential. My VHO is a 2wd version of your SS.

Ill try and set up a trip down there. But its going to be hard to. I may just call him and tell him what all I want. I just want to see considerable gains. a run 93 octane all the time, that is no problem. SO myabe I will be really satisfied.

so the bottom line is the nelson tuning is going to cause mechanical problems?? I am considering an sts and possibly a nelson tune, but after reading (I am new in the forum)i am taking another look at it. My truck is my daily driver and I cant afford to have something breaking all thi time
