Actually a piece of cake which makes it all the better.

I'm leaving the car wash and I'm at a red light when a kid in a lifted 4x4 Silvy passes in front of me going to my left. He sees me and trounces on it. Very nice truck with a very nice sound. But hell I thought - I have a nice truck with good sound too.

So I make my left turn and he's at the next red light. The lane next to him is open and I roll up next to him. His windows are down so I said 'hey man, nice truck'. But did he return the compliment? Nope. He says 'yeah, thanks'. I'm thinking 'you little piss-bag, rolling around in your daddy's-money truck...

Light turns green and he wants to show off and trounces on it. I actually took a fairly easy start and then PUNCHED it. I love the downshift from 2nd to 1st, and it almost seems to do better from a start that way. Anyway, it downshifts from 2nd to 1st and I'm dead even with him QUICK. About the time I got even, that lovely almost instantaneous shift from 1st to 2nd launches me ahead of him and it just keeps pulling away like he's got V.D. Next light we come to he comes up alongside and says (I'm still scratching me head at this) "whattaya, got glasspacks?". I said 'no, it's stock except for the sticker'. He says 'what sticker?'. Light turns green, I yell 'this one', thumb toward my back window and trounce it so he can read my Nelson Performance sticker. Figured that would give him some food for thought.

Yeah, my wife said &#39;it&#39;s funny you put the sticker on the window and all of the sudden all of these people are wanting to race you&#39;. I can&#39;t say I don&#39;t try to provoke a few by goosing it when I pass &#39;em though... :]

Seems like it has more punch when it does that. Cause it just doesn&#39;t feel strong when you go from a dead start, kinda sucks.

I&#39;m glad I&#39;m not the only one that has noticed that. I wonder what causes it.

That feeling is what you gain when you install a stall convertor. You get up in the power band of the engine instantly with the correct stall convertor.

oh lord it was almost night and day when i installed mine, just moping around town the diff isnt there, but when i start to roll on it, thats when the power hits.
