Well, Bill and I met at the track and he ran his SS Silvy w/ Radix. This is not an excuse, but he literally has 500+ lbs of material in the back of his truck.
His best for the night was a 14.8 , I forget the mph.
I'm thinking with a better driver (this was his second time and he don't stall) and removing the material and toolbox, he'd run a very low 14. That truck is very strong but heavy.
Next week, I install the 3" pulley , going from a 3.25pulley, the boost gauge and pillar. After that, he wants tuning and is very interested in a cam swap. Is that awesome or what!! Then electric fans, t stat, and get this, he wanted a 3500 stall, but he tows a lot, so i recommend a 3K stall from yank.
This truck will be deep in the 13's before we know it.
BTW, are there any 12sec SS's out there? I told him we could get it in the 12's, and he said "that wouldn't hurt my feelings" hehehe , he's a pretty good guy too.
I ran a shitty 13.5 tonight, about .2 slower than last week. I got some vids I'll post.
My father in law also went out there and ran his '99 GMC ec. and his buddy met him out there with his '00 silver ec, both with 5.3. His buddy gives him hell every morning about how his '00 is faster. Well, tonight was enuff, lol. My father in law whooped him. A 16.1 to his 16.8. I know nothing to brag about but that is a big difference when comparing two identical trucks, actually the 99 is slower stock.
We put my father in laws stock tuning in and he ran a 16.9, hahah, just once though, he made me put it back in.
anyway, just thought i'd share, btw, everyone was running slow that night, i guess it was the humidity or something.
later,
allen
