What have you guys done? new keys or spindles in front? How is the ride with lowering keys? Mcgaughy spindles I know work great on reg 1500,s but my VHO has torsion bars.

    Thanks Corky

I've heard that you can lower your tire pressure to bring it down a little (grin).

Just kidding! SCIV have you done any research on this? I know McGaughy makes a spindle for it. I would think that would be the place to start.

you can crank the t-bars to lower it up front, then shackles, hangers or leafs for the rear. they actually have different keys you can buy that will lower the front

If you use the keys to lower the front don't you reduce the amount of suspension travel available? The nice thing about the keys is they are cheap!

I just had another thought about lowering that VHO. Is it a one or two piece drive shaft? You may need to relocate the carier bearing if it's a 2 piece.

Has anyone actually done one of these?

Jethro3.....SCIV? You guys are the VHO guru's.

Using his topic (sorry waveman) but if you lower it by the t-bars how low can you go before it starts messing with the alignment? all i wanna do is go 1 in.

I turned the bolt for the bars and installed the 2" drop shackles. Now I have the "SHIMMY" from the driveline angle issue and HAD to do an alignment even from just dropping the front 1". The caster and toe where WAY out.

When the $ come in I will be doing a new spindle and drop hanger.

On the Z60 suspension spindles there are basicly 2 choices. One will cause your steering to change and one won't. One will require a little grinding and bending, the other is a simple install.

For the rear the only way to go is drop hangers and that will require a empty tank and an air chisel/grinder. The kit should include all shims to "Git 'Er Done".

When you talk to the salesman MAKE SURE they understand it is the 2wd SS with torsion bars as 90% + of them have never heard of a 2wd with torsion bars. You've already seen that.

Be glad you don't have a 2005, it has larger front brakes and creates a whole different problem.......

I hope this helps all of you, shoot me later if I am wrong.

Try joegibbsperformance.com. I just ordered 2 inch shackles from there. Their trucks may have some similar parts that you have.
