Hey guys,
A buddy brought his truck over today and it's smoking like a mofo!
He admitted to puttin way tooooooo much oil in the engine, not sure how.
He drove it for a few miles, then drained it and put the right amount in.
It's still smoking very badly. I changed the plugs because they were dripping with oil. At least three of them were. The others were coated in burned oil.
I just changed them and now it's still smoking, so he just didn't foul out the plugs.
Is it possible to break the rings, piston, etc, by adding too much oil?
It's not looking good, lol, it smokes a lot!!!! Like a good tire burnout.
I just don't want to tear into it before I understand what happened.
I'm going to do a compression test and leakdown on it just to make sure.
thanks for any input, obviously, I've never had to deal with this before, hahaha.![]()
