That thing on top of the intake manifold

...that vents the gas tank's fumes into the engine. Can it be deleted in the tune and NOT throw a check engine light?

If you delete it, be sure the fuel tank is still vented or you'll have an issue.
Some vehicles will set a dash alert/message: Tighten Fuel Cap
Even if the dtc is turned off.

So, just to clarify, I can delete it in the tune, vent the fuel cell, and I won't have to worry about dash alerts or a check engine light. Is that correct?

That would be a negative sir, lol.

Dash message may come up, may not. Everything else sounds good.

Haha, well then......Would it just be a better idea to run a line from the fuel cell's vent fitting to the vent solenoid instead of just venting the fuel cell to atmo?

There's no reason to get rid of it, but by no means is it required on a setup like yours.
That vent on the fuel cell, run it to the evap sol., then to the intake manifold; just like a stock setup would.

Or, rid all of it, and just vent the fuel cell.

That's what I was hoping to do, set the fuel cell up the same as a factory configured fuel system. My issue is that I don't fully understand how the factory fuel tank/fuel system works. However, it sounds as though the factory "vent" is essentially the line which runs from the tank to the evap solenoid...which plugs into the manifold. If this is the case, then I'll simply do the following:

Use one of the fittings on top of the fuel cell for the fuel return line, the other for the evap solenoid, and be done with it. I'd prefer to mimic the factory setup anyways, so the VCM doesn't go monkey s**t.
