    Scan gauge 2 use

    Hello all,
I bought a Scan Gauge 2 last week for my Lsx 6.0 4l80e swap and I was doing some reading and wanted to find out if I can get the Transmission temp reading off the computer. I put in the codes from the scan gauge site and it pulls the reading up but it's blank.

So my question is will the wiring harness that runs the trans have the signal for the temperature reading are do I have to install a sendor inline to get it. I have been told the computer should have it.

If the computer has the reading but was turned off when reflashed can the tunner turn it back on when I have it dino tuned?

The transmission temp value is something that can be read from the DLC.
It's a common value and will be there.
    The tuner didn't remove it.

If a scanner isn't reading standard values like trans temp and ect, then it's possible the scanner needs to be updated or isn't compatible or doesn't support the info you want.
The trans temp reading is taken from the temp sensor located in the trans, accessible by removing the trans pan.
The PCM also uses this value for shift parameters.
