    Turbo options

I'm going to shy away from doing the work for a twin kit is my current decision. Now that noted I don't see the small on3 76mm I have on my truck being very useful for long. I want something that will let the motor breathe while not taking a long time to spool. Price is always a issue. Why spend 2k if another company makes a turbo for 1k ya know.
Motor is a lq4. Has pnp 241 heads, and I'm sticking in a tu1 cam next week. No stall at the current time but Trans is a 80e.
Current down pipe is 3in but I expect that will need to be upgraded. I tried a search but didn't see a group throwing out side by side comparisons of multiple turbos with price and power in mine. The motor should never see over 700 rear wheel and would like to accomplish this but have room to turn the boost up the day I stop caring about my motor.

eBay style you can't really beat the 80mm GT45 that runs less than $500 to your door. If you want to step up the quality then BOrg Warner is the only way to go. Generally speaking $900 can buy you an awesome turbo. Lots of 1000hp guys running them.

Not really wanting a eBay turbo. Really hoping for a last one I will purchase kind of buy. As much as I enjoy my old truck it's been worked in for years now. Seen 2 different motors and probably 6 different cams.
No set up has lasted because of various failures that span the length of the truck. Now I have a pretty good motor. Good wastegate. About to have a nice trans installed. Be good to buy a good turbo ,1 time. And then all that's left is a stall for the 80e later on and a 2 step and call the truck finished. Whatever it runs it runs kind of thing.

I did look at the Borg Warner's earlier today Infact. And the s400 area sounds like it would be a good purchase. Just looking for the input from multiple sources. Everyone has " their brand " and why they choose it.

What kind of life would the Crx gt45 80mm have is the only question I have about it. I have a friend on here that runs it. And makes great power. Not questioning the power side of it.

any turbo can fail any turbo can last long. many variables determine that. Nelson swear by magnum and has shown they work well for them.
Alot of ppl like the BWs

best thing to do is come up with a price you want to spend and search what best fits that
    2002 Lightning - GT headed 5.5Litre w/ Twin 7665s
    2002 Silverado - 427Lsx w/ Twin gt4202s
    2010 Silverado crewcab Z71 - 5.3litre w/ procharger
    2000 Wrangler - 5.3litre with some stance
    2014 Xsport- 3.5 Eco boost

it ain't that I'm too big to listen to the rumors, It's just that I'm too damn big to pay attention to 'em..That's the difference

I agree with that fully. The Crx is easily in a price range and is a option. As well as the Borg warner. But even the pt7676 or pt88 is within negotiable price range being I am already setting money back. Really wanting to gather many opinions and brand names I currently may not know of so I can expand my research into those as well. The peak hp goal of 700-800 means I could go with a 76mm turbo I just need a larger exhaust ar and turbine then I currently have. I'm sure there are some horror stories I may need to take into consideration as well.
