Question Disk to drum brake swap..

I'm needing a wider slick. There isn't really a good selection in a 16in wheels. With drums I can run a 15in wheel and there are tons of options in wheels and slicks.... My question is are the rearends the same and just the bolt on disk or drum section is diff? So I could keep my rearend and pick up the drums and stuff and stick it on. Or will whole rearend need changed

05-07 classic have factory drums that fit 15". I had a complete rear from my black truck, but not sure where it went. Lol, but I will have another shortly when I put my 9" under my prerunner build. I think the brakes will swap right over, just backing plates, shoes, and drums. But it would prolly be easier to swap entire rear out if u could find a good deal

The best advice I have ever heard:... Only take B( . Y . )ST advice from someone that is CURRENTLY running a turbo setup close to, or bigger than what you want......

FYI my 14bolt came stock with drums. i took the brakes from the 10bolt and swapped them over. nothing else changed, so disk to drum might be similar

I've got a 97 obs rear end with drum brakes and I'm needing to run a 15 " rim. Any of you guys think I could possibly convert the drum brakes to work on my 00 model rear end?

hmm I would just try putting stuff together and see what you come up with. May have to make some brackets and what not

Yeah I've got a 00 rear diff sitting right beside it, might as well start pulling parts off and seeing what's up .
