Your top end speed is being limited by the PCM (computer). It can be changed by yourself using any number of hand held tuners, or by a professional tuner like Allen Nelson.

For a true HP "boost" (Power Adder) the main choices are forced induction, tubro or supercharger, cam, heads or Juice is by far the cheapest and easiest of these. Use it at your discretion.

On the flip side, there is plenty of HP you can get back, so to say, from the factory setup. It's not all about what's under the hood either. You have to look at the big picture, including gears, transmission, traction, etc. A bunch more HP/TQ does you no good if you can't efficiently get it to the pavement and not break your drive-train in the process.

Read through the previous posts here and/or use "search" and you will find some very useful information. As a start, not counting true Power Adders, my short list would be:

    - PCM tune (Nelson Performance is preferred by most guys here)
    - E-fans
    - Exhaust
    - Shift kit

    Good luck.

i'd go with exhaust, CAI and a Nelson Tune. 05's come w/ e-fans now, so don't worry about that mod....how are you getting 105? mine cuts out @ 97. have you put different wheels/tires on it?

oh yeah, add a 125 shot too

Duh. Failed to notice the '05 model year. I always do that . Yeah, scratch the e-fans, add the CAI like Squirrel said.

BADASSS!!! hey thanx alot guys i really do appreciate all the info man....i just finished descreening the MAF, i dunno if it'll help any but i did it (fuck it) so i guess i got one minor mod down .....oh you got 97 nah well i was going to san antonio on a road trip with my cuz and we were like lets test this baby out and i got a little over 100 but it is prolly cuz of the tires i got lower and a bit wider ones. What im thinking is cut all the minor shit and just buy some heads i think that will give me the most hp aside from forced induction. alright guys well thanx again. laters

Hey man I think its just your tires throwing your PCM off. I got 05 crewcab 5.3 trust me it will only run 97 with stock tires/ and stock tune. Yeah if I was you I go with CAI, Exaust, Pulleys, Nelson Tune and it will be a different truck. Hey buddy just put a Vararam Cold Air Kit, on his 05 Chevy and I was really Impressed with it. This boy has had both K&N Gen II and Vararam he said Vararam by far pulls harder. Just a suggestion KEEP MODDING
