99 5.3 into 94 obs
I have the 5.3 in the truck now and it was a factory 4.3. My question is that the trans is a early 4l60e and curious if this is going to work with a standalone type harness with with the 4l60e plug ins. I have heard that the early 4l60e which I have will not work with this harness. Can someone help me out here?? Thanks

Don't take this for gospel, but I am pretty sure you would be one pin short in the transmission harness as you wouldn't have the tcc pwm solenoid for torque converter lockup. (torque converter clutch pulse width modulation). You would have to get the new style 4l60e harness and you would also have to add the pwm solenoid in the valve body, basically you would have to modify the transmission and not the harness.
How many wires/pins are in your 4l60e connector on the harness??

I should also say that I have done this on my 97' Firebird, I have a 94' LT1 and a 97 4l60e. Mine was short one wire in the harness so I added the pwm wire and had the dealership do a 95' base tune which enabled the pwm solenoid, you can buy the internal transmission harness for $100 from the dealer. Make sure you get the newer style though..

pre 95 4l60e have a 12 pin connector 96+ have a 13 pin which is the same as the newer trucks. ive heard of gus swapping the valve body harness to the 13 pin and worked great.
