    My 92 6.0 Build

Hello everyone Just starting to figure out the site and have been doing tons of reading. My truck is a 92 SB that I bought new in 93 it was a Mark 3 conversion truck with a 4.3 5 speed with 250k miles .It has been setting about a year .Was going to put a 383 with vortec heads but I equired a 2002 6.0 with 20K miles for $500 bucks could not pass that up! It was just a long block . Found a Harness and reflashed ecm on ebay .Just Chevy trucks they also sold me all the other stuff I needed like intake ect.got my engine mounts trans dapt ,shonefield headers from jegs .
This got me started on the build.Got the engine and transmission out .to find out that you have to remove the lower control arms to remove the engine mounts(what was GM thinking)LOL
Well at that point I was ready to fit the engine in the frame used the stock v8 mounts from parts store found that they didnt quite line up with the holes in the frame so I slotted them about 3/4 " upward and they lined up great not to big of fan of slotted holes in the engne mounts so Iput a few short welds on them after I bolted them down . I decided if Im going to go that far its time to do some painting as well as replacing all the front end parts and brake lines.
I hate a dirty engine bay spent several weekends and evenings taking the front clip off and everything off the firewall, and cleaning getting ready to paint .(the truck is going to get some bodywork and paint when I get all the done with the mechanical .
After getting the frame cleaned up I primed it with PPG DP50 and painted it with nason single stage urathane black.
Got the firewall cleaned up and painted it with PPG DBC base clear Bahama Blue .
I am Painting The radiator support and inter fenders today Just waiting on epoxy to dry .Bout time to go put some color on them Ill be Back

Ok I guess im an idiot but not sure how to post pics LOL but I have a few Help me out. We got the engine and transmission in the frame and installed the walbro 255 in the tank cut the tbi fuel lines just below the firewall used earls compression to 6 an and run to the fuel rails to the push lock fitting I got from jegs (dont use the jegs brand an hose fittings they are made in china and are a pain in the arsh to get the hose in) Been kinda chomping at the bit to hear the motor run so friday night we wired the harness up and fired it up ( needed a little motivation)Man I never heard a Ls uncapped they sound pretty good for a stock motor ( Ive been out of the game for along time used to have a super pro bracket car .Kids and self employment kinda shut that down LOL)I got the the Radiator support and inner fenders painted today .
