    cant wait for tax season!!!

I've been waiting all year for tax season to get here, finaly convinced the lady to let me invest in my truck, I have a 01 ecsb silverado 4x4 and I was wondering if I could be able to get my truck in the 12s with all motor (5.3), is it possible to get to my goal with the 5.3, all advise would be really apreciated, I need to get on the right track and do it right.

Possible? Yes. Easy? No. You will need some pretty serious mods to get there.
Big Cam with the supporting stuff.
Big stall, cooler and a trans that can handle the power.
    Bolt-on's (CAI, Exhaust stuff, etc)
    Great tune.
    Slicks and weight loss.
That should get you there, but you may need more..... Heads, intake mani, etc.

I've been doing little stuff this year, I got a set of ebay long tubes, cai, and a freshly rebuilt
L60e with a 2700 stall good metals and cluthes, shift kit, but haven't been able to get a tune
To try out the stall and tranny so I think I shoulnt worry bout the tranny for a while.

You should be okay I think a cam or FI should be next if you want 12's.

Why do you think that? Honestly the bottom ends of these trucks are very strong. The top end leaves some to be desired.

150k miles and every morning when I start it there's a knock for about 2 min, so my idea was to pull it out and do a rebuild and put all the goodies in atvthat time.

Is it coming from the valve train or bottom end? That sounds like piston slap or something fubbard in the valve train. My bet is a bad lifter. Get a cam kit and do the top end I think its very unlikely you have done something to need a bottom end rebuild. Get a big cam and more bolt ons.

+1 on the big cam. You could also give nitrous a try, it would certainly aid in trimming some time off your quarter mile.

Scratch that...just saw your all motor comment.
