    Trip

Alright guys, I'm getting ready to leave Louisiana to go to Florida for vacation. It's gonna be a long drive, so is there anything I should prepare the truck for? Oil Life is sitting at about 70% and my coolant is more water than anything, so let me know if I need to change anything that would make my trip safer..

Check Tires, Check serpintine and ac belt, Do the standard ball joint, tie rod test. etc Make sure spare tire has air. Make sure you have tools needed to change a flat. Might want to also make sure your spare tire is not stuck up. This happened to me when I got a flat. These trucks drivetrains are pretty sound. I would feel comfortable driving mine across the U.S. if it had new tires. :/

edit also might want to peak at the brakes...

Check all the normal stuff. I just got back from amarillo( 1000 mile round trip 15 straight hours of driving) and had no problems in the SS. Def check the tires i saw like 20 cars with blow outs today.

If you have a Midas where you live for like $30 or so they will do a full check of everything, check all the fluids, test the battery, air up the tires, check the brakes, ect. Its well worth the money, and also much easier to spot things when the truck is on a lift as opposed to on the ground or on jacks.

I'm leaving Monday at 0600.. my boss decided to make me close on sunday, which is at midnight, so I'll have plenty rest![/sarcasm]

I'm deff checking tires and all my fluids.. might just change my oil again if money comes to it. I can't catch a Midas close to me or the direction I'm headed and its already too late to drive up there now.. There's two vehicles and 2 drivers in each truck and 3 dogs, so we'll make plenty stops and switch driving.. Might just get a spare battery and hook it up with a small TV in the back so whoever isn't driving can sit in the back and play PS3, lol..
