slight miss at idle and part throttle

Truck just started to have a slight miss at idle and part throttle. The fuel gauge and volt gauge are moving around like a slight bounce back and forth. I just installed my new electric fans and nelson harness. It was doing it before this so im not blaming them or thinking they may be the prob. The ac has also been acting funny so it seems to be an electrical issue????

I did just install a new set of ngk plugs. Wires are prob 300k miles old.

Im just looking for suggestions fellas. Im unsure were to start.

Fuel gauge bouncing is normal for these. Did you check the gap on the plugs? Probably want them .035-.040.

If the plug wires are 300k old I would forsure get some new wires. I really like taylor wires. Stock replacement wires can be had off ebay for cheap also and don't forget to grease the connections.

No i didnt check the gap. I cant believe i didnt either. I also didnt mention i went to a 1 step colder plug and non projected tip for the n20. The more i think about it, this started when i changed plugs.

Yeah it needs new wires for sure. If for no other reason than there just plum old. lol

Oh I didn't know you were spraying. So It's a BR6EF or equal? They should come pregap .026. Open it up to .030 it will help the miss at idle. But that is normal for a plug like that. Make sure to read the plugs after spraying. If you don't know how google it, there are some good articals out there.

Not meaning to jack the thread, but my 05 has a similar miss or occasional erratic idle. It's got 102K on it. Do you think I need to give it a tune up? What would be a good plug and wire upgrade for a 5.3 engine with stock tune?

Aight, i can open them up a touch. It even died on me a couple times this week. Not like the old truck to do that on me.

I've been having the same problem except the guage issue, it all started after the n2o seems like. I changed plugs and wires from the factory ones to BR6EF's and oem wires and it still misses. They are gaped at .030 to. IDK?

Br7ef's here and I have a slight miss at idle and when I'm barely touching the pedal but I don't worry about it Bc it doesn't miss a lick under load or wot. Gapped mine at .32

I think it's just common for those plugs, same thing in my truck when I put br6ef's in for my old boost set up.
