    Project RenoV8

    Hey I'm about a month into the project now. I got a ton of great info from everyone here and just wanted to post the progress and some pics...

    More pictures in my Album.

    I am finishing the plumping to the fuel tank this weekend along with finishing the wiring. Should be fired and running by this time next week. Not driving however.... Column shifter is not going to work, had to order a steering gear box, and no gauges yet....but its getting much closer....

    looking good! what motor is it 4.8,5.3,6.0? why doesent the Column shifterwork? my stock one worked fine.

    02 5.3 + 4l60E from a tahoe

    The big head scratcher was that the column only had movement for a th350, and the 4l60E would need more movement in the selector to make it through all the selections. Maybe I'm incorrect here...

    Plus I don't have a clear shot for the linkage down to the trans....


    Can you send me some pic's of your shifter linkage down to your trans?

    ok got you, my truck had a th400 all i did was removed the little part that bolts to the gear selector and changed it to the 60e and adjusted the linkage it has a bolt on it. seems to work fine, and has worked for all the swaps ive read about in 80s c10. lokar also sells a shifter cable that should work if you need it.
