    question about coil over shocks

hey guys i'm wanting to put coil over shocks using the stock hangers on my truck. but i'm not really sure how to measure the compression and extension of the shock itself. another thing can you have too much travel on a shock i would think if it doesn't have enough it would bottom out but i don't know much about it. any help would be great.

While I don't have a real answer for you, was wondering how you are going to locate the axle (I'm assuming your doing this to the rear)? Is there a kit for this or something?

what do you mean locate the axle. and yes i am doing this to the rear, i had talked to flaco months ago and he told me he is running a cal-trac setup with coil overs out back and he told me he was using the stock hangers for the coil springs. so essentially i'm just replacing shocks cuz i already have cal-tracs.
