    Lifter Preload?

Just wondering if anyone has any advice/experiance with adjusting your stock lifter preload? Currently stock Lq4 with consistant inconsistant lifter tick. Seems mostly on the #1bank. Im thinking of replacing the oil pickup tube o ring and then pulling the valve covers and re-torquing the rocker nut. Any thoughts on if this might cure the problem? Factory says 22ftlbs for rocker nut. Or should I run them down to .1 preload and ignore the torque spec??? Its not there everyday or every startup hot/cold etc. But consistant and anyoing!!! Its not piston slap. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks Previous owner did bag on it! But it still runs strong etc. Thanks guys
