    4.8 bolt on combos any idea's with best results????

    i own a 04 shortbox 2wd with a 4.8. as far the wheels interior suspension an cosmetically its all done so im ready to get under the hood! just not sure which way i should head as far as easy bolt ons and cam ideas. basically just tryin to learn but at the same time get ideas about the little 4.8 monster! thanks newbie joe

    The best thing I have done so far is my torque converter and my custom tune. A higher stall tc really helps the 4.8l off the line and during shifts. A tune might not make your truck that much faster but the drive ability will be much improved. Better throttle response=more fun to drive. Other than that a CAI and exhaust are good bolt ons. A under drive pulley and headers are also a good choice. I can not help you with cam choice since I have no personal experience with cammed ls engines. Also Welcome to the site

    what company would u recomend for a tuner or did you send yours off

    nelson performance is the send in tune most people use they are really good, as for easy bolt ons intake, headers and exhaust will help wake it up i know i felt a decent difference just from intake and a new muffler

    I had Justin at Blackbear Performance tune mine. Nelson Performance is also a good choice. Mine was just a mail order tune had them send me a pcm tuned to my specs.
