Thread: Stock Ls1 heads and cam in my truck?

    With the blower setup im running would a bone stock set of LS1 WS6 heads and cam make the truck run any better. I have a line on some for cheap so thats why im asking. The truck was going to be done now that i have the gto but i cant pass up a good deal if it will give me some more power.

    Less compression, if you do it... just go with 6.0 heads. They'll drop the compression more and they flow better.

    Well the thing is i can trade my stock heads for the LS1's. My buddy is getting a set of 5.3 heads and has to pay the core because the ls1 heads wont count tward it. So i give him my 5.3s and he doesnt have to pay the core.

    The only benefit is you'll drop compression... you'll also go to a bigger intake valve that'll shroud the chamber a good deal which I don't like.

    The 5.3 has a lil 3.78" bore and with a 2" intake valve that's not too good of a match.
