Question Question reffering to cam bearings........

are the cam bearings from the genIII motors different from the genIV?? i recently got my engine back from the shop and they installed clevite part# SH1995s

by comparing em the factory cam bearings are a little wider and the oiler holes are bigger... and thats cause there installed already......i know aftermarket will always be different from factory but rather be safe than sorry again ...so any one ?according to the shop thats what it called for.....

I searched for awhile with no luck.

    So.......

    1. How do the cam bearings look in the block? Do they look like they need to be wider?
    2. Stock cam?
    3. With the cam out, do the old bearings over lap the journals?

    I will keep looking though.

yea they look like they need to be wider..but thats what it called for?...then 2.this engine did have the VVT cam so who knows lol,,just hope i dont run into problems at start up......heres some pics
    about a 1/4 inch shorter

check out the difference from the stock bearing, also notice the oile hole size difference.but maybe thats cuz the vvt cam?

i was thinking on calling and asking HKE in houston, but really dont like to bother who i havent done buisness with.

They changed sizes in 05. So basically everything GEN III and GENIV use the same bearings from 05 to now...

The width didnt change only the OD. If it were mine I would put another brand in other than clevite. That is a tiny oil hole...

Here are some ACL parts numbers. this shows the difference.. It was 03 that they changed not 05 my bad!!!!
Take a pick and push it through the oil holes and make sure they are lined up with the gallies. Looks questionable from the pic!!!
